A recent global survey by Ipsos, the Love Life Satisfaction Survey 2025, reveals that Indians, along with South Koreans and Japanese, are among the least satisfied with their love lives. The survey, conducted across 30 countries with 23,765 adults, aimed to understand satisfaction levels in love, romance, and relationships.
India scored 63 out of 100 on the Love Life Satisfaction Index, placing it near the bottom, just above Japan (56) and South Korea (59). In contrast, countries like Colombia (82), Thailand (81), and Mexico (81) topped the list.
The survey highlighted that 64% of Indians feel loved, but only 57% are satisfied with their romantic or sex life. However, 67% expressed happiness with their relationship with their spouse. Experts suggest that factors like joint family systems, work pressure, and societal expectations may leave less time for romance and intimacy.
Interestingly, higher-income individuals globally reported greater satisfaction in love and romantic lives compared to those with lower incomes. The survey also noted that happiness with a partner often correlates with satisfaction in romantic and sex life.
Conducted between December 2024 and January 2025, the survey included 2,200 Indians, representing urban populations across metros and smaller towns. The findings offer a glimpse into how love and relationships are perceived in India compared to the rest of the world.
