A shocking case has emerged in Bengaluru, where an AI engineer, Atul Subhash, died by suicide, leaving behind a 24-page death note and a video detailing years of alleged harassment and emotional distress.
The 34-year-old Deputy General Manager of a private firm was found hanging at his home in Manjunath Layout. His video, recorded on the platform Rumble and spanning over 80 minutes, has gone viral, sparking widespread outrage on social media. In the video, Subhash spoke of severe marital discord, harassment by his wife and her family, and frustration with the justice system.
An FIR has been filed at Marathahalli police station against Subhash’s wife, Nikita Singhan, her relatives, and a judge from Uttar Pradesh. Subhash’s brother, Bikas Kumar, lodged the complaint, citing the extensive allegations in the death note.
Police officials revealed that Subhash, who got married in 2019 and had a son in 2020, faced significant financial and emotional strain. He claimed his wife’s family repeatedly demanded money and left their home with his child in 2021. The deceased also alleged misuse of maintenance funds against him.
In his note, Subhash asked his family not to immerse his ashes until justice was served, even suggesting they discard the ashes if no action was taken. He also requested that custody of his son be granted to his parents.
Police are investigating the case and stated no arrests have been made yet.
