“Memory chauvinism is a syndrome in which a person believes that his/her memory is a superior historical record than those of others. This illusion is mostly seen in intimate relationships, wherein couples ‘remember’ different versions of shared events.”

Memory chauvinism occurs when someone believes their memories are more accurate than others’. This is common in close relationships, where couples often recall the same events differently, leading to disagreements over whose version is true.
