Family Care Center (FCC) in Austin was the site of recently published research that has yielded a groundbreaking new direction in mental health.

Dr Sabrina Segal, who works as the research director at the Family Care Center (FCC) in Austin, and authored the study, said she was excited about how unique they were.

Dr. Segal continued: “This particular protocol has demonstrated remarkable efficacy in alleviating anxiety and PTSD symptoms in a limited number of studies.”

“However, the unexpectedly profound impact on depressive symptoms has been truly remarkable.”

For some years now, FCC’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Chuck Weber had been using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to help patients on their mental health journey.

The explanation provided by Dr Weber of TMS was that it uses a magnetic pulse to create an electrical charge.

That makes it possible for one not to use medication when treating such conditions as depression, OCD, smoking cessation as well as other varieties of mental illnesses but through other means.

The TMS application delivered stunning results according to Dr. Weber during his experiment after he mastered its fine-tuning for both hemispheres of the brain.

“What I’ve observed is response rates varying between 60% and even 80% among those who have depression, OCDs General Anxiety Disorders and PTSDs.”

Dr. Weber admitted, “I’ve been implementing this specific protocol for around seven years. But it wasn’t until Dr Sabrina came along to condense everything I think about and researched into findings that we could then spread worldwide.”

The whole data set was analyzed carefully by Dr Segal before publishing her findings online which showed an overall response rate of 66% among patients suffering from major depressive disorder who undertook this new treatment.

But Dr Weber also reassured the safety of the process stating that no pain will be experienced, and no discomfort will be felt except mild headaches sometimes during initial sessions.

However, their cautious step-by-step approach guarantees an absolutely painless as well as safe treatment for the patient.

The next stage of the project will be a larger study. Both physicians are optimistic that this alteration will give hope to those who suffer from severe depression without resorting to medication.

There Is Fresh Hope for Those with Treatment-Resistant Depression at FCC

Dr. Sabrina Segal, research director at Family Care Center (FCC) in Austin, has recently published a study that introduces a new concept in mental health treatment which is unprecedented in the field.

This groundbreaking protocol, originally acknowledged for its efficacy in addressing anxiety and PTSD symptoms in limited trials, has stunned researchers with its unprecedented impact on depressive symptoms, as Dr. Segal expressed her amazement at the unforeseen outcomes.

Dr. Chuck Weber, FCC’s Chief Medical Officer, long familiar with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), elucidated its mechanics as a non-invasive technology, operational since 2008, using a magnetic pulse to generate an electrical charge.

This innovation presents an alternative devoid of medication for various mental health conditions like depression, OCD, and more.

Fine-tuning TMS on both brain hemispheres led Dr. Weber to witness remarkable results.

Response rates of 60% to even 80% have been recorded by patients facing depression alongside OCDs General Anxiety Disorder and PTSDs.

Between them Dr. Weber and Dr. Segal had realized this importance during their collaboration resulting into data analysis and publication.

It revealed that nearly 66% of people suffering from major depressive disorder showed positive response to such unique form of therapy.

Dr. Weber said that the method was safe and painless, although a few people felt mild headache during the first therapy sessions which later subsided.

However, the cautiousness and gentle procedure are enough for patient comfort and safety without surgery.

The next step is conducting bigger research whereby both doctors believe that this modified protocol will bring relief to persons with severe depression instead of using medicine.
