As we step into a new year, the tradition of making New Year’s resolutions is alive and well. However, a recent study reveals that many people approach these resolutions with a negative mindset, believing they will fail.

Why does this happen? Experts say the problem lies in how we set our goals. According to research, most people set resolutions that are too broad or unrealistic. This makes it difficult to stay motivated, leading to disappointment and giving up.

Interestingly, a Forbes Health survey shared insights into changing trends in resolutions. Among 1,000 U.S. adults surveyed, 36% said they are now prioritizing mental health as part of their goals. Furthermore, 55% believe mental health should be as important as physical health.

So, how can we set resolutions we can stick to? Psychologists recommend starting small. Here are some examples:

  • Take Care of Yourself: Spend time doing activities that refresh your mind and body, like reading, exercising, or relaxing.
  • Stay Positive: Practicing gratitude daily can help you focus on the good things in life.
  • Set Realistic Goals: Break big goals into smaller steps to stay motivated.
  • Practice Mindfulness: Try meditation or breathing exercises to manage stress and boost focus.

This year, let’s aim to create resolutions that inspire, rather than stress us. With a little planning and the right mindset, 2025 could be your most successful year yet!
