In a recent episode of Karan Johar’s popular show, “Koffee With Karan,” Johar himself chose to reveal something personal.

This time around, Karan Johar talked openly about his struggle with anxiety; a move that implied that celebrities could address their mental health challenges in public platforms to help others.

Karan Johar spoke about his own experience with an anxiety attack during a press conference for his show.

It was a very sincere conversation during which Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as well shared their individual experiences regarding these issues.

In her Live Love Laugh Foundation, Padukone has been an open advocate of mental health awareness in India having battled depression before.

Karan Johar revealed that he underwent treatment for anxiety from professionals after consulting with various doctors. He conveyed that the ordeal they undergo is something which can affect anybody.

He stressed that it does not always have to be particular cause; at times, it may result from a combination of a number of issues, perhaps with an inciting incident.

The director stressed how important it is never to allow fear of stigma to stop people from discussing mental health problems.

He said that his discussion about anxiety was meant to bring awareness about an aspect of life that still exists even as he speaks.

Johar has not hesitated in pointing out that he is using medication at the moment. In this determination, Karan Johar brought forth the importance of openness in discussing issues of mental health.

During one episode filmed last year, Johar remembered having an anxiety attack during the opening ceremony of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.

Most moments on his show are unscripted and so was this decision that included talking about his own struggle with anxiety.

Johar had an open discussion on mental health in public places; he said that by doing this, others are able to get over the fear of talking and discussing what helps them too.

He acknowledges the empowering impact of these conversations on individuals dealing with mental health issues.

Not only did Karan Johar commend Padukone’s advocacy efforts but he also appreciated her foundation’s role in helping people with these problems such as depression, anxiety and any other form of mental disorders.

He advised them to seek therapy like him and insisted the need of a counselor to discuss these issues with.

Additionally, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, Bollywood’s power couple, showed a video of their wedding that occurred in Italy in 2018 during the same episode.

Johar expressed his gratitude towards them for exhibiting such a personal experience to the public.

Karan Johar observed that Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were not afraid to share a private wedding video, and they put it in impressive way by saying that this video had significant beauty, romance, intensity and emotion coming from deep within them.

He noticed their willingness to share this private moment which he said required generosity and candor because it happened several years after they were married.

Johar expressed gratitude for the couple’s act, explaining that he did not request but rather kindly given an opportunity of witnessing and cherishing the instant.

Meaningful conversations on mental health stigmatization have been started by Johar’s truth about personal experiences with mental illness and the readiness of celebrities to share private things.

These discussions draw attention to how influential people can change the way society looks at things through their own experiences.

In a deep way, Johar’s compelling reminder emphasizes that it is essential for people to be open and supported in terms of addressing mental health issues and breaking down the walls erected due to mental illness.
