Actor Ezra Miller Seeking Treatment For “Complex Mental Health Issues” Makes A Strong Case For Mental Healthcare

Actor Ezra Miller of The Flash and The Perks Of Being A Wallflower fame was recently charged for disorderly conduct ranging from assault, drugging, and harassment to grooming a minor and felony burglary.

While his actions have been met with huge backlash and fans calling to boycott his films, many have voiced concerns about the actor’s mental health. In a recent statement, Miller divulged that he is indeed seeking treatment for complex mental issues.

He issued a statement that said, “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment … I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.

What Are Complex Mental Health Issues?

People with complex mental health issues experience multiple, significant, and persistent mental health challenges that impact their daily functioning, ability to form social relationships, and quality of life. In most cases, people suffer from mental health disorders that are long-term and treatment-resistant, such as:
