What Is Introversion-Ambiversion-Extraversion?

The core concept of Introversion-Extraversion has been proposed by Carl Jung. According to Yung, introverts and extravert are people of two different polar, where ambivert stands in between them.

To further elaborate on this concept, it can be said that the interest of the introvert is directed inwards; they think, feel, and act in a very subjective way. Extraverts, on the other hand, direct their interest outwards to their surrounding environment; they think, feel, and act in relation to external factors rather than the subjective.

Jung stated that extroverts enter with interest and confidence into social activities directly and has little interest in planning or detailed observation. Conversely, introverts were defined as being below the general average in social inclination and above the average in liking inward thoughts.

Ambiverts, according to Yung consider being the most stable individuals showing flexibility between the two extremes. They can be described as someone who exhibits qualities of both introversion and extraversion and can flip into either depending on their mood, context, and goals. Researchers estimated that ambiverts make up between half and two-thirds of the population.
