Spotify partners with Calm, a widely acclaimed meditation and sleep app, to integrate wellness-focused content into its platform, aiming to support individuals on their mental health journeys. The Spotify and Calm partnership introduces a diverse range of soothing content from Calm, now readily accessible through Spotify’s podcast catalogue.

The collaborative effort behind the Spotify and Calm partnership has led to the launch of 11 shows on Spotify, covering various topics like sleep, stress, anxiety, meditation, and mindfulness.

To add a touch of celebrity appeal, some of these shows feature renowned narrators, including Harry Styles, Cynthia Erivo, Cillian Murphy, Jennifer Garner, Wanda Sykes, and Camila Cabello. While a portion of the content is available for free, the premium Calm meditations on Spotify and remainder require a subscription or free trial.

Some of the featured shows resulting from the Spotify-Calm partnership include:

  1. Calm for Beginners: A collection of short meditations tailored for newcomers to mindfulness or those looking to reinvigorate their practice.
  2. Calm for Stress & Anxiety: Guided meditations and soundscapes designed to help listeners cope with challenging emotions and situations.
  3. Calm for Meditation: An assortment of meditations catering to different levels and goals, ranging from beginner to advanced, and from focus to gratitude.
  4. Calm for Sleep: A curated selection of soothing stories and sounds to facilitate falling asleep faster and enjoying better quality sleep.
  5. Calm for Kids: A delightful series of engaging stories and meditations tailored to children of varying ages.

The Spotify and Calm partnership is facilitated through Spotify Open Access (SOA), an initiative introduced in 2021, enabling companies to offer their paid content on Spotify through different subscriber tiers.

With this integration, Spotify users can now access a certain amount of Calm’s content for free without requiring a separate app download or the full subscription fee. However, to unlock the entirety of Calm’s content available on Spotify, a Premium subscription to Calm is necessary.

For those unfamiliar with Calm, it stands as one of the most sought-after wellness apps on mobile, boasting over 100 million downloads. The app offers an extensive library of original audio content, ranging from meditations and sleep stories to music, nature sounds, and masterclasses from experts.

The Calm and Spotify partnering not only broadens the availability of wellness content to a wider audience but also empowers users with valuable resources to enhance their mental well-being. By providing easy access to calming and mindfulness-focused shows, narrated by notable personalities, the partnership aspires to positively impact users’ lives and foster a healthier approach to self-care.

Whether it’s finding solace in soothing stories before bedtime or discovering meditation techniques to cope with stress and anxiety, the curated content promises to be a valuable addition to Spotify’s ever-expanding repertoire of offerings.

As the world recognizes the significance of mental health, this alliance emphasizes the commitment of both parties in the Spotify-Calm partnership to support and nurture the well-being of their users through accessible and comprehensive content.
