The statement on Angus Cloud’s death read: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss.

The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

Recent media reports emerged that Angus Cloud’s addiction and grief for his father might have taken a toll. His mother reportedly made a distressing 911 call, expressing concern about a “possible overdose” and informing the emergency services that her son had no pulse.

Tragically, Angus was later pronounced deceased at the location. According to a source close to the family, Angus had been struggling with severe suicidal thoughts upon returning from Ireland, where his father’s burial had taken place.

Euphoria actor Angus Cloud’s journey to stardom began unexpectedly when he was discovered on the streets of New York City by a casting director who recognized his potential. Despite initial skepticism, he embraced the role of Fezco in Euphoria and dedicated himself to portraying the character authentically, even modifying lines to make them feel genuine to him.

However, Angus was candid about the challenges of acting and the toll it took on his mental well-being. Acting may not be physically demanding, but the constant need to be focused and perform at one’s best can be mentally exhausting. He said in a 2022 interview with Complex: Sympathy, yo. Because addiction is serious and a lot of doctors call it a disease, it’s a real thing. People don’t understand it. It’s easy to talk about and it’s easy to say, ‘Just say no’ … But for someone who is in active addiction, that is damn near impossible and they will throw their whole life away and they will die because of this disease or whatever, and then they will say it’s not a disease because you ‘choose’ to do drugs. You don’t ‘choose’ to do cancer.”

As his popularity grew due to the success of Euphoria, Angus found fame to be a double-edged sword. While he appreciated the recognition for his work, being constantly recognized and treated differently by people took a toll on his mental state. He yearned for regular, unassuming interactions and wished not to be seen as special but as an ordinary person.

Despite the admiration for his HBO role, Angus didn’t want people to assume that playing Fezco was effortless. He put significant effort into bringing depth and authenticity to the character and wanted people to understand that it was not merely an extension of his true self.
